Detoxing Tips to Consider

Detoxifying your system from cannabis use is something that your body will do on its own, but there are several things you can do to speed the process along. Here are the top detoxing tips from the pharmacists behind our brand for supporting efficient and effective detoxification.

1. Stop Ingesting Cannabis, Drugs, and Alcohol Completely

It might seem obvious, but you actually have to stop consuming cannabis if you want our THC detoxing tips to work. Each part of your system has its own timeline for getting rid of THC and this natural process cannot be cheated with any kind of magic “flush.” These are the approximate times that it takes for THC-COOH to clear from bodily samples:

  • Urine: 3 days to 90+ days
  • Blood: 7 days to 30+ days
  • Saliva: 1 day to 30+ days
  • Hair: 90+ days

Every time you consume cannabis, you reset the clock on your detox schedule—so avoiding cannabis-based products completely during your detox is a must.

Alcohol and other drugs can also stop THC metabolites from being cleared from the liver, so you’ll need to stop ingesting these substances if you want our detoxing tips to work effectively. For your health and safety, check with your doctor before discontinuing any prescription drugs or combining prescription drugs with a detoxification supplement.

2. Start Burning Fat

In the body, THC is stored in the fat cells where it’s gradually released into the bloodstream and eliminated when those fat cells are burned. You can speed up this process naturally by doing an hour of cardio for at least the first three days of your detox program and beyond those initial three days if tolerated.

3. More Fiber, Less Carbs

The third of our detoxing tips is to limit carbs to 50 grams a day and increase the amount of fiber you ingest in the form of whole grains, leafy green vegetables, and legumes like lentils and peas. The idea of increasing the fiber in your diet is to loosen the THC stored in fat cells and encourage its transition to the bloodstream for elimination.

4. Stay Hydrated

Drinking 6-8 cups of clean, filtered water is one of the best ways to help your body cleanse itself of toxins. Water keeps the colon lubricated and stools soft so that you can pass waste with ease. Water also keeps the kidneys working and transports water-soluble toxins from the liver and out of the body.

While using our 2-day, 5-day, or 10-day detox schedule, you can mix up your water intake with lemon, lime, mint water and liver-cleansing teas like dandelion and milk thistle to promote detoxification. However, we don’t suggest you drink much more than the amount of water mentioned in our detoxing tips, as the excess could dilute the supplement and make it less effective.

5. Prepare for Your Symptoms to Return

The last of our detoxing tips is to prepare yourself for some discomfort when you stop taking cannabis. In addition to facing THC-withdrawal symptoms like insomnia and decreased appetite, any health problems you were managing with cannabis are likely to come back once you stop. Talk with your physician before you begin your detox schedule and make a plan to manage your symptoms using other approaches like physical therapy, meditation, and support groups.
