Urine Test Strips: How They Work & How To Use Them

Five urine test strips

How to Use Our Urine Test Strips

At Green Gone Detox, our detox kits automatically come with some urine test strips to help you check your progress. You can also purchase a package of just the test strips if you feel you need a few extras on hand. Throughout the detox process, you might be tempted to see if your body is already clear of cannabis. While we understand wanting to know as soon as possible whether your cleanse has worked, we recommend following our instructions to save you time and money during the process. Learn how to use our urine test strips and how urine drug test strips work when you read this overview from the Green Gone Detox experts.

When to Use the Test Strips

While Green Gone Detox products can cut your cannabis cleanse in half, we don’t recommend using a test strip until 24 hours after your last detox pill. Because everyone is a little bit different, your body weight, age, and level of cannabis use can have significant effects on your progress. However, we understand wanting to test early or wanting to double-check your test results, so every one of our detox kits comes with five urine test strips.

Urine Strip Use Instructions

How you use our urine test strips is simple. Follow the instructions below to get the most accurate results:

  1. Remove the test strip from the sealed pouch
  2. Remove the paper at the bottom of the strip where it reads “single drug screen test”
  3. Urinate into a small container
  4. Dip the strip into the urine for 10-15 seconds, narrow tip down
  5. Remove the strip after 10-15 seconds and lay it down on a dry, clean surface
  6. Wait five minutes before checking your results

We recommend setting a timer for exactly five minutes for the most accurate results. If you wait too long, your test results may be compromised.

Reading the Test Results

Learning how to use our urine test strips is easy, but you also need to know how to read the test results. After waiting five minutes, take a look at your test strip. You’ll see that there are several boxes at the top of the strip. Each box has a label that will tell you your result. A red line will appear in the box that dictates your result, either Positive, Negative, or Invalid. If you get an Invalid result, we recommend running the test again with a new strip.

How Do Urine Drug Test Strips Work?

Our cannabis test strips are checking for a concentration of THC-COOH in amounts higher than 50ng/mL. If THC-COOH is present in your urine, it will bind to a specific chemical on the strip and trigger a visible line to appear in the Positive result section of the strip. Without enough THC-COOH in your urine, the strip won’t recognize its presence, and a visible line will appear in the Negative result section of the strip.
